Newly renovated and newly named, Cabot Public Library offers enticing spaces for patrons and staff
A new building, a new name and a move across town ushered in the next chapter of the Cabot Public Library in central Arkansas.
A variety of spaces entice people to stay and work, read or hang out - like the new audiovisual section, a coffee bar, and a seating area where people can relax and read or work alone or in groups. There are reservable meeting rooms, several study rooms where two people can have a quiet place to study, two conference rooms that can accommodate up to 10 people, and one large community room with tables and chairs that can hold about 40 people.
From bright green and blue accent walls to new furniture with bold fabrics, the library re-opened with fresh colors and new services designed to create a community space where individuals and groups feel comfortable working, learning and relaxing.
The changes are more than skin deep.
A pillar of the community, libraries are learning hubs and community gathering points serving a wide spectrum of groups across the community. To create a modern gathering and work environment for residents, the Cabot Public Library incorporated additional computers, more seating and a new audiovisual section.
The final layout of the library offered several types of spaces, from open reading areas to gathering rooms, designed to appeal to a wide segment of the population.
Creating flexible spaces serving multiple groups of users is an increasingly important, and essential, element of building design.
With its role in the community at the forefront, the library included additional meeting and study rooms - including a pair of conference rooms seating up to 10 people each - and a large community room with capacity for 40 people.
It was also sure to keep some areas fun.
To create a place patrons would stay and unwind, planners incorporated a coffee bar and comfy seating areas featuring Sela wood-arm lounge chairs and Lyra tables.
Adaptable furniture matches the reconfigurable nature of the building's spaces. Strive and Torsion on the Go! nesting chairs offer comfort and mobility while the InTandem table system, Instruct All Terrain Mobile Teacher Desk and Portico tables offer reconfigurable meeting and work areas. CrossRoads chairs and tables round out the new aesthetic appeal of the library.
With a new look, new features and new location, the next chapter in the life of the Cabot Public Library is providing a captivating experience for the city's 26,000 residents.
