KI Donates Furniture To Support Growing UNT Dallas Esports Program

New gaming and collaboration space enhances student engagement and competitive play
GREEN BAY – KI, a leading manufacturer of contract furniture for education, healthcare, government, and corporate environments, has donated furniture to support the University of North Texas at Dallas (UNT Dallas) Trailblazers Esports program. The approximately 500-square-foot space enhances the university’s dedicated esports environment by providing ergonomic gaming stations and flexible collaboration areas designed to support competitive play, teamwork, and student engagement.
The UNT Dallas Trailblazers Esports program, a member of the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE), has grown steadily since its founding in 2020 and now serves nearly 50 student participants. KI’s furniture installation helps create a more comfortable and adaptable environment for students and staff involved in the program while supporting the evolving role of esports in higher education.

“Esports programs are creating new opportunities for students to build community, develop teamwork, and engage in meaningful campus experiences,” said Katie Clark, higher education market manager at KI. “We’re proud to support UNT Dallas with a space designed to enhance collaboration and provide students with an environment that supports both competitive play and connection.”
The new space features a mix of gaming stations, collaborative seating, and thoughtfully designed furnishings with integrated power and wire management to support competitive play and team interaction.
Key elements of the space include:
- Gaming stations: Passel height-adjustable tables paired with Nav esports chairs provide ergonomic support for extended gaming sessions. Each station includes CPU holders, cable trays, and vertical cable managers to organize hardware and keep technology neatly managed.
- Collaboration and spectating areas: Clamber tiered seating with an integrated worksurface creates space for spectating, teamwork, and casual gathering during gameplay. Students can use laptops or work alongside teammates at the raised worksurface while seated on LimeLite cafe stools.
- Flexible lounge seating: Sonrisa lounge chairs, hexagon-shaped MyPlace ottomans, and C-Tables add adaptable seating and personal worksurfaces that can easily be rearranged to support different team sizes and informal collaboration.

“Esports gives our students opportunities to build skills that extend far beyond gaming,” said Caleb Simmons, assistant director of esports at the University of North Texas at Dallas. “Communication, teamwork, and technical knowledge are all essential parts of the program, and this new space provides an environment where students can practice, collaborate, and grow together.”
By supporting spaces like the UNT Dallas esports facility, KI continues its commitment to creating environments that foster student success, engagement, and evolving learning experiences across higher education campuses. To learn more about KI’s approach to esports, visit ki.com/esports.
