KI Turns Sitting into Generative Art at Design Days with “The Art of Flow”

May 27, 2026

Live immersive installation powered by Cognetic Technology™ transforms human movement into real-time, one-of-a-kind artwork

GREEN BAY – At this year’s Design Days, KI will unveil The Art of Flow, a fully immersive, live installation that transforms the simple act of sitting into a generative art experience powered by Cognetic Technology™.

Located inside the new KI Inspiration Center at 1045 W. Fulton St., 8th floor, The Art of Flow invites visitors into a new form of creative interaction where movement becomes the input for art creation.

At the center of the installation is a simple but unexpected idea: what if sitting wasn’t still?

When a guest takes a seat in a lounge chair built with patented Cognetic Technology, the system captures real-time micro-movements generated naturally during seated activity. Subtle shifts in balance, pressure changes, posture adjustments, and movement patterns are translated into a visual Cognetograph, instantly displayed on a nearby screen.

Each Cognetograph is immediate and personal. No two pieces are the same. Art is created through natural movement, making each moment of sitting a creative act.

“This experience makes the invisible visible,” said Tony Besasie, chief sales and marketing officer at KI. “What we typically ignore, like how we move while we sit, becomes the creative force behind something entirely new.”

Cognetic Technology, invented by Aaron DeJule, is a patented innovation and a new way to experience sitting. It expands workplace seating beyond traditional ergonomics into a new category: human performance seating. While conventional seating focuses on comfort, posture, muscle exertion, and movement efficiency, Cognetic Technology also introduces two additional dimensions: cognitive performance, which considers how people focus, process, and think, and physiological response, which reflects how the body adapts, regulates, and performs over time.

Together, these elements allow seating to respond more intuitively to the human body, enabling a more dynamic, movement-aligned experience.

The Art of Flow brings that underlying technology into an experiential, sensory format. Instead of presenting data as metrics or charts, it translates motion into visual expression, creating a calm, immersive environment shaped by flow state, rhythm, and presence.

The experience is intentionally brief and highly curated. Guests participate for just a few seconds, with two stations operating simultaneously to minimize wait times and maximize engagement. Each output is an abstract interpretation of movement taking data and transforming it into contemporary art.

Each visitor receives a personalized takeaway: a custom-designed tote bag printed with the visual pattern captured from their unique movement signature. Guests may also opt to receive a digital version of their artwork by email to save and share.

“This is about turning motion and experience into memory,” said Besasie. “You don’t just see the technology; you leave with it.”

The Art of Flow reframes sitting as an active, expressive state rather than a static one. It extends KI’s broader exploration of human performance and movement, demonstrating how even the smallest physical shifts can meaningfully influence cognitive processing, shaping focus, engagement, and mental well-being, while also serving as input for design, creativity, and connection.

At Design Days, The Art of Flow stands as both installation and invitation: a moment to slow down, sit, and see movement transformed into something entirely unexpected.
