NeoCon 2026: KI’s Kiaura Collection Redefines What a Chair Is Supposed to Do

For years, the dominant logic in commercial seating went like this: add more levers, more controls, more adjustability. Make sitting manageable. KI has a different theory.

If you remember the novelty of the old Ergomatic seat fitting, this is that instinct taken seriously and built into the chair’s bones.

The collection spans task, conference, and lounge seating, alongside complementary tables and ottomans. Visually, the family reads as refined and considered: soft contours, advanced knit textiles, a broad material palette, and a cohesive architectural presence that holds across work modes and room types. Task chairs carry the familiar five-star base; lounge configurations lean into generous proportions and a quieter register, clearly scaled for shared professional environments.

What makes Cognetic Technology distinct from standard ergonomic seating is its intent. Rather than targeting posture management alone, the system addresses movement, cognitive engagement, and physiological response over the course of a full workday. Early studies found reductions in lower back discomfort, improved cognitive processing scores, and reduced anxiety after four-hour seated sessions.

NeoCon 2026 agreed. The Kiaura Collection took home Best of Competition in Integrated Solutions, an Innovation Award, and five gold awards spanning lounge, conference, task, sofas, and collections. For a single debut, that’s a hard result to argue with.

KI is formally calling this category Human Performance Seating, and that framing matters. It signals a shift away from comfort as the end goal, toward seating as a performance tool, one that works as long as you do.
