Take a Look at the Coolest Offices in Chicago. Two years ago, the pandemic catapulted employees from their corner offices to the corners of their living rooms—or wherever they could snatch space. Slowly, they’re trickling back to the office, where the collaborative magic can happen.

“Organizations and employees both recognize the importance of face-to-face engagement,” says Jonathan Webb, director of workplace markets for Green Bay, Wis.-based furniture manufacturer KI. “We are seeing an increase in the number of spaces specifically designed for ideation and group interaction within offices,” he said. “Areas that just promote one-on-one interaction are being reduced to accommodate these new, team-oriented spaces.”
