NASHVILLE, TENN. - Design professionals from HOK Product Design, Pallas® Textiles and Mannington Commercial will discuss trends in healthcare design, their influence on today's healthcare environment, and the benefits and challenges of developing complementary products for the healthcare environment during a discussion at the 2011 Healthcare Design Conference. CEU-accredited by the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and moderated by Cheryl Durst, executive vice president and CEO of IIDA, the panel takes place at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13.
The challenge of bringing together clients, designers and manufacturers to create effective healthcare spaces will be discussed as panelists share insights from a collaborative healthcare collection led by HOK Product Design. The Valetudo (Latin for health and wellness) Collection from Pallas Textiles is a privacy curtain collection inspired by the idea that a healthy lifestyle is a balance of mind, body and environment. Designed to complement the Vivendi Collection from Mannington, fabrics from Pallas Textiles were designed to create privacy curtains that are visually appealing both inside and outside the patient zone. Supported by qualitative and quantitative research, the team aimed to differentiate its products by focusing on the luxury trend during the product development phase.
Panelists include: Donald Cremers, senior designer, HOK; Natalie Jones, vice president, Commercial Brand Development and Creative Product, Mannington; Dave White, general manager and vice president, Pallas Textiles; and Ardis Hutchis, lead of architecture and interiors for the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics.
