KI Supports Active Duty Employees with Boss Lift Program

September 2, 2011

GREEN BAY, WIS.  - KI proudly supports its staff members serving in the National Guard and Reserves and recently participated in "Boss Lift," a national program coordinated by Employer Support for the National Guard and Reserve (ESGR). During the "Boss Lift" program, employers see firsthand the type and quality of military training and leadership activities National Guard and Reserve members receive while they are away from their civilian occupation for duty with their military units.

Dick Resch Boss Lift"These brave servicemen are so much more than weekend warriors," said Dick Resch, chief executive officer, KI and "Boss Lift" program participant. "They're sharp, highly skilled leaders with a dual function, and we have to extend every opportunity we can as employers to make sure they have a job when they come back. We want to make their transition as easy as possible." Through "Boss Lift," employers are flown on Air Force C-130 cargo planes to various training facilities where they observe and interact with National Guard and Reserve members on active duty. Employers get a better understanding as to the extreme and professional training that Guardsmen and Reservists receive-all of which relates directly to being a better employee upon return from active duty.

KI Employee Reservist Mike Vaessen"As soldiers, we are showing courage and commitment every day, and we couldn't get the job done without the support of our employers back home," said Mike Vaessen, KI employee and deployed Reservist. Listen to Vaessen describe the importance of supporting our nation's Guard and Reserve whether they're away on deployment or returning home to their civilian duties: View photos of KI's recent "Boss Lift" participation at ki.com/facebook
