1. Floor tool

ProTeam. The new Xover Floor Tool has built-in design features that enable air to move evenly across the entire 14-inch length of the tool, improving suction, soil removal and ease of use on carpet and hard-floor surfaces. With a wider mouth to pick up large debris and a high-performance brush, it draws out dust, particulates and allergens from deep in a carpet or floor. The shoe now stays in better contact with the floor surface to optimize maneuverability.

2. Wireless technology

KI. The company has partnered with Fulton Innovation, creator and licensor of eCoupled technology-an intelligent wireless power solution that can charge portable devices without traditional power cords. eCoupled provides wireless power management to any applicable furniture surface. Without the conventional restraints of cords, connectors or contact points, it provides power to common office devices, including laptops, cell phones, PDAs and digital cameras.

3. Contemporary restroom accessories

Bobrick Washroom Equipment. The Cubicle Collection accessories line adds style and convenience to any restroom or toilet cubicle. The sleek, satin-finish stainless steel used in the products is a premium material that is low-maintenance and vandal-resistant. Featuring contemporary styling, the models share common elements such as threaded escutcheons and post diameters to enhance coordination. The pieces in the collection include a spare toilet-roll holder, a surface-mounted toilet-tissue dispenser, a toilet-brush holder and a coat hook. Set screws and concealed mounting plates provide a snug fit on the wall and help to prevent vandalism.

4. Electronic Lock and Key Catalog

Videx, Inc. A new catalog has information on CyberLock electronic locks and intelligent padlocks. The free catalog includes an instructive CD on electronic lock and key technology. CyberLock brings electronic access control and auditing to mechanical lock hardware simply by removing a lock's cylinder and replacing it with a CyberLock electronic cylinder.

5. Modular power system

Generac Power Systems. The Modular Power System (MPS) is a flexible backup power solution that offers scalability, redundancy and reliability. MPS gensets are small enough to fit into spaces that can't accommodate large units and light enough for rooftop applications. The heart of the MPS is the PowerManager System Controller, which eliminates the need for expensive switchgear.

6. Waterless urinal

Acorn Engineering. The stainless-steel waterless urinal is made from 80 percent recycled content and operates without the need for chemical cartridges. This durable product is wall-mounted and can be installed to meet the ADA's Standards for Accessible Design. It is available with the Enviro-Glaze powder coating, which comes in a variety of hues.

7. Fire smoke damper

Greenheck. Model FSD-331 is a three-hour rated combination fire smoke damper with Class I leakage. Featuring a high-strength airfoil-style blade, it operates with velocity ratings up to 4,000 fpm and a pressure rating up to 4 inches wg. This steel airfoil blade combined with the profile frame design results in the industry's lowest pressure drop. It is available in a vertical mount with a maximum size of 120 inches wide by 96 inches high.

8. Storage system

Smith System. A scalable solution, Cascade Storage enables educators to effectively organize, store and distribute 3-D learning materials. Comprising shelving and tote tray storage units in an array of heights and widths, the system is a scalable solution made to house materials of nearly any shape and size-from art supplies and science tools, to 3-D models. The short, wide units provide students easy access to tote trays, and the taller units provide high-density storage at a teacher's height.

9. Hurricane-resistant windows

Kalwall. The newly introduced Kalwall E-Series Windows, which allow integration of clear vision glass with translucent panels in the unitized Curtainwall System, are certified to TAS 201, 202 and 203, as well as ASTM E1886 and E1996 in fixed and project-out sash models. The clear glazing is 5 feet wide and can be up to 3 feet high, offering a variety of options to designers.

10. Outdoor fan

Big Ass Fans. The new outdoor-rated series features the ceiling-mounted Isis for covered areas and Isis-on-a-Stick for ceiling-less spaces. The outdoor series of Isis, like its indoor predecessor, is engineered, precision-balanced and hand-built with aircraft-grade aluminum and industrial components. Its sweeping airfoil blades, shaped like aircraft wings, revolve slowly, delivering breezy comfort while deflecting airborne insects. The ceiling-mounted Isis is available in diameters of 8, 9 and 10 feet, and weighs less than 100 pounds. Isis-on-a-Stick incorporates a powder-coated 10-foot steel pole and mounting structure; the patented winglet and airfoil design spans 10 feet in diameter.
