The keystone of the Pallas Walls collection, Classic Washi, derives from the handsome papers crafted in far flung Japanese villages long ago. In this ancient method handed down through the generations, the powdered bark of such indigenous trees as mitsu-mata was mingled with the waters of clear running brooks to produce the fine paste mixture that dried as paper. Classic Washi also relies on natural ingredients, but the process is technologically generated to meet the stringent codes and production requirements of the international contract market in seven subtle colorways.
